The FAQ

My Approach

My approach to capturing you is authentic, documentary style. I desire to capture you in your beautifully messy and unique season of life. I love to watch sessions unfold organically and effortlessly and I embrace the twists and the turns, allowing you and your child to lead the session.

Where are you based?

I am based in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs region. I am open to travel and a travel fee can be negotiated upon enquiry.

Do you do film photography?

At this point, I do not offer film photography. The 'Film' in my name is a reference to the videography packages I offer.

What should we wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Neutrals and cohesive outfits are always a great go-to for beautiful, timeless photographs and videos.

What if we are unwell or there is bad weather?

If you or myself are sick, we will postpone. In the event of unsafe weather, we will postpone. If it is cold, overcast or drizzling, I am happy to go ahead and embrace the weather conditions if you are.

What time do sessions begin?

I'm very flexible in regard to time, particularly for in-home sessions. However, I usually recommend 1 hour prior to sunset, if you want pictures outside. Please be mindful that this time changes with the seasons.

When will I recieve my photos?

There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes of editing a session. For that reason, my current turnaround time is 2-4 weeks for photo sessions and 4-8 weeks for film. I will always communicate with you if I require more time.

Can I upgrade my gallery to include more images?

If you have selected "Simple Moments" or "Come As You Are" you can upgrade to include extra photographs ($5 per image). The same applies for limited time sessions.

What if my kids are having a hard time?

Kids will be kids! As a mother myself, I get it. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Take your time. Big emotions are apart of life and that's what I'm about. Free of charge, smaller make up shoots can be arranged if your child is having a particularly hard time and doesn't want to be involved on the day of your session.

Do you offer payment plans?

If a family would like to split the payment, a payment plan can be arranged on a case by case basis. Please specify if you need this payment option when booking.

What is the booking process?

Upon booking, I will get in touch with you to confirm the date and time of our session. From there I will send you a questionnaire, client guide, contract and invoice.

How do we book you?

My preferred and best way to book is via the Contact form here on my website or the booking link in bio.

Why are films more expensive?

Editing video to ensure everything is just right requires a great deal of time, effort and creative energy, more than it does for photographs.
It can be an investment that not every family can afford, however, family film is something that will only increase in value to your family as time goes by.

Can I choose music for my film?

I only use licensed music for my films, as it is illegal to use commercial music you hear on the radio. If you have a genre in mind, I am open to your preferences, however, choosing the right music for your film is an art within itself that I put great thought and artistic consideration into.

Do we have to have our photos or film at home?

The thought of a session taking place at home can be stressful for some - I totally understand! It is up to you where you'd like your photos taken, but please remember that your home doesn't have to be clean or Pinterest-worthy, lived-in is beautiful!
That said, I am a documentary photographer, so if you'd like portraits in a location that isn't significant to you, I'm probably not the right choice for you. I am happy to photograph or film you and your loved ones at your local park, on an afternoon neighborhood walk, just in your backyard, or even an AirBnb that you want to hire for our session.
